I am Kris, I work in IT and run a small side business from an office in Batley.
I recently took up hobbyist videography and was practicing taking shots with a camera in media city, salford and got talking to a student who was doing some fantastic work with a drone. Not that into drones themselves but his portfolio was brilliant and after seeing the price of them couldn’t resist getting a DJI Mini 4 pro.
I’ve had it a few months now, got insurance and done a fair bit of reading and videos too. I’m finding the rules and regulations a necessary evil and a little bit suffocating (being sub 249g the restrictions themselves aren’t too bad, but getting the confidence you’re ok to fly unchallenged is the hard bit).
Found the site by chance and thought I would sign up as I do intend to use the drone where possible to add to my videos.
My main issue with drones is that constant fear of losing signal (happened to me in newcastle and whilst it brought itself back it was a change of clothes moment), but the main concern is that imposter syndrome you get (you get it with a camera on a tripod too) where you feel like someones going to ask you to go away, even in public land.
Hasn’t actually happened yet and enjoying it so far (cautiously). So hi
