Yep I bought the RC Pro and they are not cheap (if you can find one). I got it for the mini 2 as I did not want to break my phone. I would have been very sad if that was damaged.
Correction, I got the DJI smart controller for the mini 2. That is the one that would REALLY upset me as that was not cheap

No lanyard? I never fly without one. Even so, if controller nonetheless connected to pilot by a lanyard & said pilot takes a bad enough tumble I guess it’s still possible for controller to hit the deck before the pilot, so it’s 6 of one and half a dozen of another, eh?
