My second real flying day - I decided to fly despite a 10mph wind and strong gusts. The Mini 3 Pro handled it very well with a little less battery life due to fighting the wind. We had such a good time we used 2 batteries. Savile Park is a very good flying area for novices due to its size, and is big enough to absorb a good number of visitors while still being drone-safe (with care).
Definitely a good place to practise, and some nice shots there. I was looking at the park as I drove past earlier this week, and considering it as a take-off point for a flight around Wainhouse tower. Looking at your picture, it might be a bit further than I thought. If you get the chance (and the weather / low wind), I’d recommend getting a 360 pano shot from 400 feet above the park.
Last year when I got my drone and had a bit of practise under my belt, I got down to Shibden Park at 8am on a Sunday when there was hardly anyone around and got some nice footage of the house, followed by a flyover of the park. I’d recommend putting it on your list, but definitely get there early before the house opens.
The Wainhouse Tower is definitely one to go for, although I think I’d want to take off from somewhere in the immediate area - there’s lot trees around there and Skircoat Moor Road is a busy one. I have seen a “top down” shot and I’m going to try and do the same. A 'Tower shoot would also give an excuse to go to the Wainhouse Tavern…
The Pano shot is one to try - I’m still fiddling with camera settings and need to be a bit quicker so as not to eat into actual flying time
