Not sure how many would be aware of this, but us radio hams often run a data system called APRS. I won’t bore you with the details but some of these stations have weather stations at their home that upload real time to the web.
Simply go to:
…and scroll the map to your area. Look for an APRS station labelled as ‘WX’ (Weather) and click on it. You will get a box pop up with real time weather data.
Simply find one close to the area you wish to fly for a current weather report.
Remember these are real-time weather, not a forecast.
