Happymodel Crux35 HD - 3.5" of 4S lunacy 🫣

Just filled a noticeable gap in my ‘fleet’ with a new Crux35. Bargain at £120 imho if you look at component costs atm. 3400kv motors and runs on 4S. Weighs about 90g. So, predictably, it goes like a banshee. :grinning:

Really smooth and fast to fly. A tiny bit of jello at super high throttle but otherwise is solid as a rock. It didn’t come with a buzzer weirdly so I added one (after I spent ten mins looking for it in long grass yesterday. :man_facepalming:)

First time I’ve started to acro again since I demolished my Naz5 in the… ‘incident’. Complete jelly legs but loving the power this has to pop out of the bottom of flips / rolls etc. Just starting to stretch its legs (and my fingers) a little by little.

First flight in one of my favourite local little spots. I added a spare Vista unit to this one. Footage is just from DJI goggle DVR. Am v. tempted by a naked GoPro to go on this one tbh.

Nice one dude.
This is a drone that has been on my radar for a while now, just pending cash flow to go forward with it
Did you pay 120 for the HD version? If so that is indeed an even greater bargain, bc I usually see the analog for that price.

Based on all the comments I see about this drone, there is a fatal flaw with the frame design which makes it more prone to breaking, so might be good to already pick a different frame replacement for it. Several sturdier frames around without extra weight penalty…

No - sorry! The analogue one is £120, to which I added a Vista that I had here already. The frame is actually designed to take the Vista unit anyway so it literally slotted straight in. The ‘official’ HD one I saw around £230 on the usual sites.

I’ve been after one of this size for a while and the Crux is about £90-100 cheaper than the other standards in this class, the Babyhawk and the GEPRC Smart35. Not sure why it’s so much cheaper as it’s a cracking little beast.

I’ve seen comments re the frame on this one. I gave it a couple of medium dings yesterday but not sure of durability in the long run… time will tell!

Ah, I see, makes more sense now… lol

Apart from the frame issue, only heard good things about it.

Enjoy the new drone!

btw… that box/case you launched from seems to be just like the one I use for keeping my flying kit (TX, goggles, drones, and few bits and bolts) :slightly_smiling_face:

Probs a bit smaller than that - this one is designed to hold my TX16x. (and a few packs for good measure :grinning:)
