New joiner here and very new to the drone scene. My son expressed an interest in drone flying as a career so we bought him a DJI Mini 4 Pro with Fly More kit. Live in Poole area and looking for some nice places to legally fly to get him some hours under his belt. All done with flyer ID and Operator ID and just looking to increase knowledge of how to do things safely and legally. Was going to take him to Arne for flying as it looks nice but pretty sure we cant fly there.
Flying a drone is great fun but sometimes you feel the need to have a purpose for doing so and the Challenges category provides some great reasons for you to fly.
There are regular challenges which are open to all, that attract members of all abilities. Support, advice and constructive criticism is freely available; still photography, video and the techniques for editing both are involved in the challenges. Suggestions, for subjects or for complete challenges, are always welcome - take a look in the Challenges category for more information.
We’re a well established club with many knowledgeable members so it’s very likely that any issues you come across will have been discussed here before. Our discussion forum has very powerful search features which should help you find what you need but if you get stuck you can post a new question in the Questions & Answers category.
And finally, if you are new to drones and wondering what it’s all about, have a look at Resources for a beginner.
There are no FRZ covering Arne. But it is an RSPB site. The air is governed by the CAA so flying is fine however for some sites of interest such as this courtesy would dictate you check whether there are local rules or guidance for taking off / landing from these sites. It is important not to get dissuaded or dis-encouraged if you meet objection however. There is much misunderstanding around what is and what is not permitted by those not experienced to drones. Just make sure you do your own diligence and are happy with your own rationale.
