Hello from Alan in Exmouth

New flyer, thought I’d dive into a new hobby. I’ve now got a shiny new DJI 4k mini, an Operator’s and Flyer ID.

I’d been thinking that trial flights to build experience were going to be straightforward given my location at the coast but it seems that much of the coastline around me is owned by the National Trust not Crown Estates. Also East Devon District Council and major land in the area deny drones to take-off/land from their land. I can see part of the Estuary, away from the Bird Refuge, are available to me but where else?

Any flyers near to me able to share knowledge.

Thanks
Alan

Hi Alan and welcome to the club, love the area. Around Exmouth.

Hi Crox, I’m Mike and I live in Exeter 75yo. I have the DJI Air2s with The Smart Controller. I would love to have a Drone Mate to meet up now and then, Fly Our Drones, Exchange Notes etc. Welcome to the Club. :sunglasses:

Hi Bud. Anywhere the tide goes up and down is crown. Except Dawlish. East Devon council can only forbid you from taking off from their land. The so called total ban is rubbish as councils can not override legislation. CAA does that. As long as you have opperators ID and some times flyer ID your good to go. Chris. Exeter.
