Hello! from Cornwall

Just a quick “Hello” from Bodmin Moor in sunny Cornwall.

My very nice boss has just bought himself a new drone, and he very kindly gave me his old one!
So I’m the owner of a DJI Mavic Mini.

This is all new to me. I’ve registered and got my Flyer and Operators ID. I’ve installed Drone Assist on my phone.

I’m struggling to find anywhere to actually go and fly the thing though. Just wondered if any locals have any suggestions.

Welcome sir!
I’m just down the road from you in not so sunny Bodmin
Plenty of areas to fly around us for learning and practicing, the moor actually has some excellent places when the cows and sheep aren’t about. Between Davidstow airfield and Crowdy is quite a good open area and the animals seem to stay clear of there more. Also the Beacon in Bodmin and the surrounding fields are good to practice on.
Once you’ve honed your controller skills, the coast is the amazing place to be.
