Retired for 10 years. Married with a Granddog as none of my kids wanted a family.
Been flying helicopters for a while and also interested in photography.
So I thought why not combine the two.
Live near Portsdown Hill so convenient to fly when it’s quiet.
Scary letting the drone do the flying, it’s more hands off than helicopters which you have to keep on top of to avoid crashing.

Flying a drone is great fun but sometimes you feel the need to have a purpose for doing so and the Challenges category provides some great reasons for you to fly.

Support, advice and constructive criticism is freely available; still photography, video and the techniques for editing both are involved in the challenges. We’re a well established club with many knowledgeable members so it’s very likely that any issues you come across will have been discussed here before. Our discussion forum has very powerful search features which should help you find what you need but if you get stuck you can post a new question in the Questions & Answers category.

My favourite at the moment is a cople of little Blade MSR and MSRx. The total length is 20Cm and they are very light weight. The X variant is Flybarless. They are very squirrley to fly and take a lot of concentration. I fly them indoors and they are seriously effected by air currents bouncing off the walls and furniture so they’re good for sharping hovering skills. A big plus is that the don’t break easily. I also have a whole range of Align Trex 450, 550 and 600. I have two Century Swifts, one is a joy to fly the other can be a swine. Lastly I have a GAUI 200 which tries to get me when I fly it as the swash plate sometimes sticks.
Just bought a Mini 5 Pro. Not flown it yet too hot down here. When it’s not hot it’s been windy.
