Hello from East Grinstead, West Sussex

Totally new to drones. Just purchased a DJI Mini Pro 4. Flown it around my local park a few times. Amazed at how easy it is to fly and the quality of imaging. My ability is limited to up/down, left/right and RTH. Need to work on banking and faster flight. I live in West Sussex about 10 miles from Gatwick Airport. I am surrounded by Ashdown Forest and lots of parks. Willing to meet up with anyone local for learning. Just took my CAA test and now have a Flyer and Operator ID.

Welcome, I am down in Burgess Hill. Be careful in Ashdown forest as Drones are banned, but there are lots of other local places to fly. Check out Drone scene

Thank you. I am just discovering things. Had a look at NOTAMS and registered with them. It seems there are more places you can’t fly than there are places you can! Very frustrating but I think it’s just a case of looking harder.

It will not take long to find some places to fly. Keep an eye on the meets section for meets near you and also if you are up for an amazing weekend check out the big meet.

Welcome from a fellow newbie, to the site anyway.

I own a Mini 3 Pro and Air 3S. Thoroughly enjoyed improving my skills since March 2023 and love getting out whenever the poor UK weather allows.

Hi @Markta, it looks as though you’re quite new here :wave:t2:

Why not nip over to the Introductions page, and say hello properly and tell us a bit about yourself. :+1:t2:

I thought I was on the hello page.?

@AstroTog re read, he’s tagged the user above prompting him to do the same as you and create his own introduction post because he’s new here too :slightly_smiling_face:

Definitely. The places you can fly outweigh the places you can’t by an order of about 1,000,000

Especially with a sub-250g drone, the world’s your oyster.

Keep an eye on the Meetups category for things happening near you, and / or organise a meet-up of your own
