Hello from Hedge End, near Southampton

I decided “foolishly” to buy a DJI Mini 3 Pro at the end of last month. Total beginner, so been waiting for the weather to get less windy and wet before venturing out. Done my ID’s and got some of the apps. My inaugural flight was a quick look at my gutter which looks to not be draining correctly so a worthwhile trip :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

So generally been looking at forums and sites etc to get my head around where I can and can’t fly and hoping to be able to get out a bit over the next couple of weeks.

Considering booking a lesson with one of the local drone training schools to accelerate my confidence.

40+ years ago I spent a couple of years living in Hedge End while at college - many hours spent in the Barleycorn - I suspect it’s changed a lot since then though ! :slight_smile:

We only moved here last July, we moved down from High Wycombe. So the drone purchase is also a reason to go exploring as well.

Welcome to GADC… There’s a few of us in and around the Southampton area. As mentioned take a look at Drone Scene and you’ll see some locations others and myself have listed not a million miles from Hedge End.

Welcome, I’m in Romsey so not far from you.

I was over in the Dunbridge area yesterday, not flying though but it looked like it could be a good area to fly. I haven’t looked at the map yet but will do soon.
