Hello everyone, I’m based in Ipswich and embarking on a “proper training and certification” task to build on a self-taught, during COVID and in the space where my kitchen should have been installed but wasn’t thanks for COVID, “apprentice” learning with a tiny drone which later I found out was much harder to fly than the bigger, with GPS built in and less susceptible to wind :-), which I was too scared to fly and crash :-).
Aside from reading through Resources for a beginner would anyone recommend anything more visual, more hands on learning from/with others? I learn better doing than reading, hands on presentation vs youtube is “more interesting” let’s say.
Anyway, anyone else in and around Ipswich and members of a club please get in touch, drop some insights, tips or just a hello.

Flying a drone is great fun but sometimes you feel the need to have a purpose for doing so and the Challenges category provides some great reasons for you to fly.
There are regular challenges which are open to all, that attract members of all abilities. Support, advice and constructive criticism is freely available; still photography, video and the techniques for editing both are involved in the challenges. Suggestions, for subjects or for complete challenges, are always welcome - take a look in the Challenges category for more information.

Hi from sunny Blackpool. Best find some open ground and get out there & fly, no better way to learn.
When I got my first drone (a min 2 se), I was excited to fly it, I live in a frz, so indoors was my first attempt, crashing off furniture etc. Luckily the 2 se is a remarkably resilient drone (I reckon far more so than the mini 4 pro). Next was garden (I phoned Blackpool at , they said anything above house roof I would need permission, I took that to mean if I fly low I could fly in my garden, that was a disaster, cut knees etc. But had sussed out the way the drone responded to the sticks (well almost).
Find an open field, start carefully get used to how it responds to the controls, learn what it can do, you don’t need a course on how to fly it.
