Hi, everyone! I just joined. My son bought me a mavic mini and I’ve done just a handful of flights. I’m still finding it freaky sending it up above 80m.But I’m gradually finding good places. I live near Winchester in Hampshire, UK. The New Forest seems best bet but I’m open to suggestions. I’ve registered with Gov and did the little test so all good. I just posted a question about trying to get the telemetry data onto videos but I gather you can’t unless you subscribe to something. Any tips on that most welcome. Cheers!

Welcome from the New Forest side…
Just be careful flying in the forest, byelaws etc - there plenty posts in the forum covering this topic.
Oh wow OK thanks HantsFlyer
Hi again. I’ve had a quick look and it seems to be Crown land is restricted. It’s hard to get a map of that though. Maybe they mean the National Park? But that means 80% of the area is unavailable. It seems a bit harsh on responsible pilots with licences who care about the wildlife and all they want is a few minutes in the air away from anything. But there are gaps in the map from what I can tell. Any particular places which are OK in your experience?
See my post here from last year and comms received from Forestry England.
I personally stick to the coastal areas around the forest and have no issues. You also can fly in the forest from private land but you must have the landowners permission.
Hi and welcome. I am in Southampton. Look around the posts and maps for places to fly. Initially learn the controls in wide open spaces.
