Hi Guys and Gals,

Yes I’m a newbie. I have bought a DJI Mini 2, I’ve registered it and myself with the CAA and for good measure I have taken the flyer test too.
I’ve been practicing take off and landings via the App and manually, although the manual TOAL was out of necessity because when I went out for my first proper flight the App told me the ground was unsuitable (I think the grass was too long) but it worked ok thank you YouTube.

The Mini 2 was absolutely awesome and I was on cloud 9 as well as the drone! Just need to get confidence in the drone and in my ability to fly it.

It’s great to be part of a like minded community where amongst other things I can ask for help if I get stuck.

Anyway just wanted to say hi. :wave:

Have you seen our members map? (Click the burger-menu in the top right) You may find some pilots living near you. Feel free to add yourself to the members map too :+1:t2:

We’re a well established club with many knowledgeable members so it’s very likely that any issues you come across will have been discussed here before. Our discussion forum has very powerful search features which should help you find what you need but if you get stuck you can post a new question in the #questions-and-answers category.

Managed to get another flight today, was a bit windy, but the mini2 handled it without a sweat. I, on the other hand, got a bit frozen due to the wind-chill, had to cut it short after about 20 mins.

Hi Liam,
Welcome to GADC!

Last year I was in Weston super Mare and operated from the beach. It’s and OK place to fly from and I got no bother - in fact got chatting to another fellow flyer.

There is also Cheddar Gorge which is very good. Very photogenic.
