Hi, Ive recently joined this site and it looks great. Ive had a Dji phantom 3 professional for years, and still used it regularly up until this week. Truth be told, the batteries dont last half as long now and its just so damn noisy! not to mention weight.
The noise attracts unwanted attention, and its a bit of a pain waiting for it to “Warm up” and all that. That said, its never let me down and was a great first drone to learn with.
This week while on holiday in the highlands i bought my self a DJI mini 4 pro, and its worlds apart. The weight, the noise, handling, responsivity and controls are so much better. Ive made a good few short videos now, which are on my youtube channel. The editing leaves a lot to be desired, but wanting to get to grips with the new drone at the mo. However, very tragically, whilst out filming in the bay where we were staying i caught a fatal house fire in progress. Suffice to say the drone was landed asap and i raced over to help, and do whatever i could. A sad outcome though is where i will leave this at. I cant bring my self to watch the footage either again as it feels a little bit “not right” if that makes sense. The local police have also requested the footage to aid in the investigation.
Anyway, we reside nr york, north yorkshire, and have a place in the yorkshire dales where we spend a lot of our time. Our relatives have a farm up there and there are zero restrictions on flights at all.
One issue with the new mini 4 pro is the file sharing from the controller. Im having issues with the dji fly app, my s25 phone wont download the app, and its a total pain in the backside to collect the footage which is actually saved on the device its self, and not SD card. Cheers

Welcome! I’m from the Scarborough area, York’s the big city for us! The mini 4 pro is fab and I’ve got a samsung fold with the dji fly app installed ok, I love the drone!
Try loading the app dierectly from dji, you have to lower your security settings by allowing installation of unknown app. Your issues might not be over downloading images as the app and my dji RC unit dont connect well unless i switch off mobile data and switch on airplane mode (but turn on wifi and bluetooth). Hope that all works.
