Help - meteor75

Last one has a decent run before doing forwards and down, 20 mins till uploaded (COME ON BT YOUVE PUT FIBRE TO THE POLE I CAN SPIT ON FROM THIS SEAT, ALLOW ME TO BUY IT)…

Yeah I see my LQ and RSSI at top left, wonder what the bottom left one is…

This 3rd vid is v. strange compared to the other two and NOT my flying

I am using BluJay though.

Yeah but thats based on blheli S as far as I know so should have similar settings?

Watch from 1:30 if you don’t want to watch it all  though it’s a good fly around, and different kind of freak out at end (and no it wasn’t my flying), lol. It looks smooth on all the turns, flips, etc!

though watching it at about 50 seconds it seems to do something that I “recover” from, turning from the left end of the area to the right, it looks down similar to the end crash

Ok… so it’s always a left turn and always when you are coming out of the turn.

The fact that it’s always the same way, and that it’s when completing the turn and trying to level out, are both signs of a desync.

One of the motors has stalled… always the same one. BF is trying to get it to start again, to do this it pumps up the signal to it, but the motor does not start, so it keeps on trying. The other motors can get throttled back as well… All that happens is the quad falls out of the sky in a spin.

Be thankful it’s not as aggressive as was happening on my 5", which was becoming a spinning ball of death as it flung itself to the ground…

More like it manages to get that motor out of its stall… Nothing to do with your superb piloting skill

Watching all my videos… I can only turn left it seems  Doubt got evidence of right turns!

Haha. That crash on Saturday wish I had got DVR of that, can’t find it, was the longest… “Oh have I recovered… Nope? Again… Nope? Again… Nope, better disarm as might be heading for spectators”… Longest crash ever had around the course we’d all setup!

BTW… I think it’s probably the front left motor. That one will be throttled down both for the left roll and the left yaw (assuming props-in). Also you pitch down and to the left.

Here’s an idea… try props-out… That way on those left coordinated turns the left motor will not be taken to such a low throttle.

Theres your solution, learn to turn right, no more desync

OK well think @yith and @sirgunner agreed it’s a desync, that’s good to know. Will sort out the OSD, and add motors. Doubt be able to test any time soon (other than indoor hover), will watch some videos, and see what SG said above. Thanks guys. First quad had these kind of issues with!

pretty much what I was thinking… back to velocidrone tonight!

Was it zoolander where he could only turn one way? The old guy?

Im not an ambiturner

Yes… I’ve found that we all have a tendency to turn the same way over and over again… and it makes watching back the videos rather repetitive and annoying.

I’ve consciously started to make sure to turn both ways during flights and have told Brendan to do the same as he was also just going around in circles in a dizzying way.

Heh yeah I’ll add it to my next “skill” to learn. TBH the other videos and quads from that day esp. ripping through the long shed at the back right I did from this end through to other which is right… One thing I’ve been trying to get right is turning without gaining altitude as I have a habit of that too. I know at drone circle I go round trees both ways now!

That one is very difficult to get right…

Throttle control on turns is bloody difficult to get right, very often you need far less throttle than you think you need. I find myself bouncing up and down like a basketball way too often lol

I’m getting better, did a load of races in LiftOff last night (not used the sims in months and months), and never completed 3 laps before, I was winning the easy Straw Bale races after a few goes. Have to master throttle for that!

I may have to have another stab at that. Last time I tried I could get past the second gate.

Exactly the same Jez! Give it a go, amazing what a few months flying in real life helps with a sim!

Im not ready for the fancy courses, but these lap ones are OK
