Hi all.

I’ve been reading for a while and getting a feel for the community, and I’m excited to see how friendly you all seem.

I’ve only recently gotten into flying drones, a friend introduced me over the Christmas holidays, and I have become a little hooked.

I’m ordering parts to build my first drone, and I would love to fly with you all sometime in the future!

Have you seen our members map? (Click the burger-menu in the top right) You may find some pilots living near you. Feel free to add yourself to the members map too :+1:t2:

We’re a well established club with many knowledgeable members so it’s very likely that any issues you come across will have been discussed here before. Our discussion forum has very powerful search features which should help you find what you need but if you get stuck you can post a new question in the #questions-and-answers category.

Thanks everyone. I can’t wait to crash and share the result with you all. :sweat_smile:

I’m currently going for a cheap but not crappy build so I can worry less about crashing while I learn. the only thing I’m currently unsure about is what FPV system to go with. I’m not a fan of DJI’s locked-in system, and I’m using expressLRS for my transmitter (Radiomaster Zorro) but aside from video/range comparisons, I don’t really understand what real-world differences the other systems have.

Any advice you guys have would be greatly appreciated

I’m coming down to Wells tomorrow, the missus wants to see the Cathedral. I shall have the Mini 3 Pro in the boot just in case I can find a TOAL site.

Thank you for the welcome! You’ll love the city, and it’s always such a calm place to visit. If you get time, sunset from The Tor in Glastonbury can be stunning too (assuming we get a break from the clouds)
