(I hope you don’t mind me using this term of affection)
Started droning with a hubsan toy several years ago and got the bug, quickly progressed to a Yuneec Typhoon H Pro, which flew away over the horizon, all by itself on take-off about a week after I bought it, but which a different forum helped me convince Yuneec that it wasn’t my fault after analysing my flight telemetry - thread available here.
I got kinda spooked by that episode, nevertheless bought the original Mavic, loved it, but still remained spooked by my fly-away and ended up selling it as a result of my spookedness and skintness.
Several years have passed, and throughout there was always a niggle in the back of my mind, wanting to view the world from a unique angle, so I just recently took the plunge again with a DJI Mini 3 Pro, which is why I’m here now. Seems like a fun, interesting, and supportive place to be, so I think I’ll stick around.
Just a shame I chose the cloudiest, rainiest and windiest summer in living memory to do it, though! (Also bought my 1st telescope a few months ago, and have had exactly 2 available nights to use it on!!!).
Anyway, enough of my inane, IPA-fuelled ramblings - pleased to meet you all and happy flying!
