Hi All, saw a YouTube video about the website and decided to check it out. I’m relatively new to drones having bought an EBay £30 job and lost it on the second flight in a tree.
I’ve bought myself a DJI Mavic 2 Pro with a fly more kit, 2nd hand from a guy who has a drone photography business. It has so many features, it’s amazing. I’m still using beginner mode at the local sports field, but on Sunday I went down to the River Severn near Sharpness and flew it. Even took it out of beginners mode.

Have you seen our members map? (Click the burger-menu in the top right) You may find some pilots living near you. Feel free to add yourself to the members map too :+1:t2:

We’re a well established club with many knowledgeable members so it’s very likely that any issues you come across will have been discussed here before. Our discussion forum has very powerful search features which should help you find what you need but if you get stuck you can post a new question in the #questions-and-answers category.

Hi George,
welcome to the club. if your flying near Sharpness then your not far from me ( Berkeley )
flown there a few times myself. have a field next door to house i can use as long as i avoid far end where horses are, so i practice there railway line and M5 close too, lots fields behind I fly over when practicing with new FPV drone to get feel of it ( still new to FPV) lol message me if you want meet up sometime , I still work but sure to have an hour or two spare cheers

Hi Barry, It would be great to have a meet up. I still work one day a week, Wednesday. It would be next week at the earliest as I have a few things on this week. I’ll send you a message over the weekend.

Welcome. This is a really nice place to be if you are a professional or newbie (i am in that area firmly). The welcome I received when I joined was fantastic.

Secondly you have acquired a great piece of kit. look after it and it will work well for you. DJi drones are pretty much fail safe as long as you use them with loads of common sense. I am sure you have that because you have decided to join the Grey Arrows. Best wishes with the hobby.

Also keep an eye out for meetups. They are fun and a lot of experienced chaps turn up and they are super helpful.

Thanks for the welcome,
Bit older than you, 71 in November, still work as an HGV Driver for Asda 1 day per week. Got to keep busy. The drone is fantastic and I love flying it.
