I’m a keen Scuba Diver and have been shooting under water photos and videos both in the UK and abroad for about 10 years . I decided to buy a drone (mini 3 pro ) a couple of year ago to use the video footage as an introduction to some of my videos. I’ve since bought a mini 4 pro and more recently an Air 3S, I love flying both and have stared to get more interested in the photography side of things.
I joined GA to join a community and to learn from much more experienced flyers , as I’m still relatively new to it.
Thanks , and safe and happy flying
Hi from sunny Blackpool.
Ah, Longridge. I used to work for W&J Riding haulage and visited Longridge depot regularly from Thornaby depot. Happy memories. Good luck with the drones, they are addictive.
Hi and welcome @GCPProductions I used to dive back in the 70 s 80s could not believe how much the kit has moved on since then

Flying a drone is great fun but sometimes you feel the need to have a purpose for doing so and the Challenges category provides some great reasons for you to fly.
There are regular challenges which are open to all, that attract members of all abilities. Support, advice and constructive criticism is freely available; still photography, video and the techniques for editing both are involved in the challenges. Suggestions, for subjects or for complete challenges, are always welcome - take a look in the Challenges category for more information.
We’re a well established club with many knowledgeable members so it’s very likely that any issues you come across will have been discussed here before. Our discussion forum has very powerful search features which should help you find what you need but if you get stuck you can post a new question in the Questions & Answers category.
And finally, if you are new to drones and wondering what it’s all about, have a look at Resources for a beginner.
Welcome once again!

Hi Graeme @GCPProductions and welcome aboard the GADC community
Hi and welcome to G A D C. Our old neighbour does diving and we took the drone to get some footage. Got some good shots until my idea of getting a shot where I pull back and up and then turn to show the countryside. It was all going well till a tree jumped out at me. This resulted in the thread I created about fetching a drone from a tree only to find it was on the ground howver the ground it was on was not safely accessible until we found out afterwards there was a road that lead up the back of the slate to where it was. However we did get a pretty good video of the approcah to the lake, the setting up of the divers, jumping in, then we went to the body cameras underwater where they were able to get up close to fish, and other items like a sunken plane (on purpose) and other items as it was a diving training centre. The video finishes off with the drone following the van from the complex. We were quite proud of it and despite it being years ago the divers have still not seen it. Lucky we had other drones to complete the filming as it took a few days to retriev the drone.
