Hi from North East London

Hello Everyone,

Bought a DJI neo last week. Think best to county my flying experience in crashes rather than hours at this point.

Enjoyed it so much so far trying to fly VLOS mainly and now also tried to fly indoor using the camera to navigate obstacles.

But been nervous finding an open space to fly outside where it’s much further away from me.

Saw some one flew at Hollow ponds so might try that coming weekend. Any recommendations welcome

Welcome to the group. I’m based in Herts, but often get down to East London. Did some filming in Coronation Gardens and over Leyton Orient about a month ago. The River Lea is also a good place to film - was over at Dobb’s Weir at the weekend.

I bought the Mini 4 Pro, got quickly hooked and then ‘accidentally’ bought a Neo at 5am one morning. It’s certainly addictive, but I do think that they fill different niches (so can justify the second purchase )

Hey,

I’m using the RC N3 that came with the fly more combo.

It’s perfectly good I think it’s more my lack of skill trying to fly in sport mode indoor in my small flat flying under the table or gaps in chairs that’s causing the crashes at this point

Thanks so much for the recommendation. Also if your ever up this way on a weekend do reach out. I don’t know anyone else who flies a drone so he great if you are ever up this way

Likewise. I do plan to go filming in Walthamstow at some point. The Town Hall in Forest road seems like a good building, and my mother mentioned another building nearby that’s quite impressive as well.

I’ve not had a chance to play with my Neo much, but think it will be better suited to flying in smaller spaces than my Mini 4 Pro. I actually flew it through my car (you can see that about 2 minutes into my 2024 show reel video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EP_PZuEIOkQ). Given that I only got into drones in October last year I think I managed to cram in a good bit of variety!
