Hi, I’m Chris and I’m pleased to have joined the GADC community. I’m new to all this; I bought my DJI mini pro 3 late last year and as a raw beginner I’m finding all the information and advice provided here invaluable. I’m based in Taunton but spend some of the year in Ireland and I’ll need to investigate what I need to do to fly legally out there.

We’re a well established club with many knowledgeable members so it’s very likely that any issues you come across will have been discussed here before. Our discussion forum has very powerful search features which should help you find what you need but if you get stuck you can post a new question in the #questions-and-answers category.

Join the @group-southwest and then you can get informed of any meets that might be organised locally.

For Ireland you will need to take and pass the EASA test. You can do this via the irish website.

Welcome Chris. Being in Taunton you won’t be short of a few interesting places to fly. I was stationed at Culmhead in the early 90’s, and even though I live at the edge of the Yorkshire Dales now I thought the countryside around Taunton was quite beautiful at times.
