Hi im Andy from Darlaston, West Midlands

Hi. I very new to drone flying . Got the bug when i visited isle the outer hebrides .Only had a cheap drone and wish I had spent more as the views were amazing and a better drone would have done it more justice . I purchased a mini 4k earlier in the year to see if a decent drone would get me more hooked and im glad to say it did ! Joined this group to learn more about this fantastic hobby afind safe and interesting places to fly and to socialise as it can get lonely witn just me and the drone!

Flying a drone is great fun but sometimes you feel the need to have a purpose for doing so and the Challenges category provides some great reasons for you to fly.

There are regular challenges which are open to all, that attract members of all abilities. Support, advice and constructive criticism is freely available; still photography, video and the techniques for editing both are involved in the challenges. Suggestions, for subjects or for complete challenges, are always welcome - take a look in the Challenges category for more information.

We’re a well established club with many knowledgeable members so it’s very likely that any issues you come across will have been discussed here before. Our discussion forum has very powerful search features which should help you find what you need but if you get stuck you can post a new question in the Questions & Answers category.

And finally, if you are new to drones and wondering what it’s all about, have a look at Resources for a beginner.

Welcome once again!

Alright Andy mate, ow am ya? Welcome from Bloxwich mate.
If you want a DJI and don’t want to pay full price, the Clearance Bargain Centre in Walsall is selling some for a lot cheaper than normal price. It’s the old DIY shop by the Cenotaph in Bradford Street, and free parking for 90 minutes! Don’t know how many they’ve got or how long they’ll have them, nip down and have a look, save some money.

Everybody was “nervous” when first starting out. That quickly disappears once you get yourself “under the rotors” (think behind the wheel, but for drones) and I guarantee that you will ask yourself what you were afraid of once you’ve got there. It’s fantastic, and the folks here are more than happy to hep get you there properly. There’s no rush, the fun is inevitable.
