Hi, new member from West Lothian with Dji M300 & Dji Mini

Hi, i’m Dean, based in Livingston central Scotland. I’m fortunate to be the owner of a DJI M300 which i use for work (holder of a GVC) and I also have its wee brother Dji Mini for something less restrictive. I need to make an effort to get out more this year with the drones and hope to see some posts from others in Scotland for some inspiration for flying locations.
Couple of photos of the big boy attached. The circular frame attached to the legs and tube at the rear is a wireless communication device prototype, that i was testing out in the USA. Cheers

Hi @Deanoecosse Welcome to GADC. That is some beast of a machine you have. WOW.
Hope you enjoy it here.

Thanks @Foley Yeah it’s a big beasty, up to 9kg fully loaded. It’s a cracking bit of kit and can fly in most weathers. Thankfully my company picks up the tab for it as everything about it is big numbers compared to the little DJI Mini i also fly ie £1400 for a pair of batteries :scream:

What is the flight time for it.

For fourteen hundred quid I’d want several days of flight time :rofl:

Welcome to Grey Arrows @Deanoecosse :smiley:

At the meet I was commenting on the price of the Mav 3 batteries. This has just fried my head.

Lucky guy getting the company to foot the bill. I am sure that if you ask them nicely they will get members one each.

@Deanoecosse welcome :wave:

@Foley “up to 55 minutes with no payload”. I’ve always got some sort of payload on it so in reality i usually get a maximum of 40 minutes, but i like to keep it towards the 35 minute mark to give me some margin, especially if flying over water!
It runs on a pair of 5.9Ah batteries weighing in at 1.3kg each and they are hot swappable, so i can land it, keep it powered up, swap one battery at a time and have it back in the air within 20 seconds of landing.

Remind me again what time you’ll be able to drop it off for me to borrow for a while? :thinking: :grin:
