I’ll be going down there at some point. It looks a good place to fly, lots of interesting bits for practising acro. Not sure it will be this year. i would rather stay fairly local, maybe no more than 40-50 miles out if possible, what with fuel prices the way they are.
As you said it’s a bit of a trek, well it’s a major trek, at roughly 400 miles round trip. If it was to be done, it’s probably better to camp somewhere down that way and focus on flying sites in that area. Something for next year.
