Hi All,

I’m Ade from Ashford… I only just joined today as I’ve got a little more time on my hands so want to invest more time in my drones and hobbies in general…

I’m an electronics engineer, programmer and general network/RF engineer too so have a penchant for all things technical and interesting… I’m from the Netherlands, but grew up in Southern Africa so have a pretty interesting accent haha…

About my drones… I have 4 of them in total… 3 of them in various states of scavenge… haha… My main is a self built unit.

Mark 4 v2, 8 inch carbon frame
F722 FC with BetaFlight
60A AIO ESC (4 motors)
4 x 2807-1300kv’s
the props I change regularly between 2 and 3 blade 8 inch
I usually fly with 3300 50C 4s but am looking to go 6s to see how far I can push the 2807’s

I’m still busy doing the 3d printing for the shell I designed for it, so it’s a little weird looking at the mo… haha. The nose and tail end have been done ith TPU (to act like bumpers in a way) the mid-ship will be TPU too, but still hashing out the venting for the ESC etc…

The aft bumper holds the 2 RX/TX antennas as well as the XT90 battery connector.

Its still early days and a bit heavy… But I’ll carry on fine tuning it

Oh forgot to add, the XT90 connector holder is separate from the aft bumper:

The way it works so far is that the aft bumper slips over the frame and the XT90 holster slips nicely into a hole at the back of the bumper…

Whilst many GADC members fly ‘out of the box’ drones there are quite a few of us who like to build our own. I, for one, seem to spend more time building than flying. In this category let’s share what we are up to with our quad builds and benefit from our fellow members experience.

Hey @stevesb … It’s still in prototype at the mo, hence why it looks like it’s been greeted by a rottweiler…

Once I have the mid-ship / fuselage vents clear in my mind designed and done… If everything fits together like a glove, I’ll do a final HQ print, which’ll take several days… Hence the quick and rough draft appearance haha.

Using the term “saffir” gave that away horrified… You might want to look the origins up of that word, correct it for something more PC and apologise to whoever haha… rpfl…
