I’m brand new and have had my drone for a few months. Is there anyone who would be willing to meet for a bit of social company and help me overcome my first flight? I am very unsure how to find a safe spot to fly etc. It would be nice to meet other people, otherwise I will keep my eyes peeled for a meet if there is one. I am very interested in making footage to use on you tube etc in the future, but I don’t have any idea where to start and the exact rules etc as it seems for a newbie that pretty much nothing and nowhere is permissable to fly. I’m in Yorkshire currently but im often in the North West and I live in Bournemouth, heading back that way next week. I would love to go in the future to say Scotland or the edge of the lakes or somewhere specifically to meet others and get some shots.

Have you taken your flyer id through the CAA, it will give you a good grounding of the rules and is a requirement before you fly.
You’ve come to the right place for some support. Everyone is so happy and willing to lend a hand. It can seem a bit daunting at first, but confidence building is the key and thats what forum members can offer. As JhDee has suggested, look at Dronescene for airspace and see how many member live in the area. You’ll be surprised!
