I know when it comes to legal stuffed shirt stuff many of us enter an involuntary catatonic state, however this is VERY BIG NEWS, and affects every one. Big Kudos also goes to Simon Dale @FPVUK as Ian mentioned him in dispatches. Sadly, the organisation that is supposed to represent my interests, the BMFA, adopted their usual three brass monkeys approach. For the record I’m only a member of the BMFA, and under duress, as it’s a requirement of my flying club.
All the details are included in the links below. And it goes without question that Ian Hudson (UAVHIVE) has accomplished and incredible win for the UK drone community as a whole, for his tireless questioning of the authorities and his meticulous attention to detail. The conclusions made by the Tribunal are very scathing of the authorities, and quite defensive of the drone community as a whole. This may sound very gushy but in my mind he has attained my vote for Hero Of The Year, and it’s only March.
One last thing. Some may not appreciate the significance of this. Basically it illustrates that all the restrictions, demonising, and falsehoods, that are commonplace today have been borne from lies and misinformation around the December 2018 incident at Gatwick Airport.
