No longer for swapsies… Damn
Why the oven, why DJI Batteries
What the fuck?! Lol On a plus side atleast it didnt explode
Well it was the one that I briefly brine soaked (had to video proof to DJI for a replacement), then shoved in oven for “safety” the other day. Went to put a pizza in for breakfast (heavy night, don’t ask), put over on, came back 10 mins later to put pizza in and see a melting battery, lol
Was gonna open it up anyways, and that’s a start
New one here next week
It’s in the garden now
Drinking on an empty head
I thought you were trying out new pizza toppings was going to say don’t think dominoes will go for that
Hehe. Had fun cleaning the oven shelf… Won’t do that again
Sorry, was this intended for the Cooking Recipes and Restaurant Recommendations thread?
I am quite new to the drone seen and wondering why you would put the battery in the oven in the first place.
I think he was concerned that it might burst into flames. Personally I’d put it in something outside. A barbeque is popular, but a metal bucket would do.
Do the batteries tend to burst into flames ?
I had just soaked it briefly in brine water (to destroy it as requested by DJI for a replacement). Wanted it to dry out so didn’t leave outside as was raining. Put in oven just incase and forgot I had.
I have seen people put lipos in lipos bags in oven for “safety” in the past for storage.
But no lipos treated well should not flame up. This battery had developed a fault hence getting a replacement from them.
I don’t normally put batteries in the oven as normal procedure and likely won’t again heh
You should be safe with DJI batteries, they have all sorts of protection… but take care nonetheless.
However FPV Lipos… you should be aware of the dangers for sure…
Li-ion go up far worse than Lipo. Proper mini grenade level if fully charged and you are really unlucky.
@GunjaFPV, can I make a suggestion for the future?
Cheers. Have 2 of those boxes with all my lipos and a fire extinguisher next to them.
Not putting a known potentially faulty battery in with my good lipos, heh
Please may I suggest putting the fire extinguisher at least ten feet away ?
If they do go up, you defintely don’t want to be going anywhere near them to get the extinguisher !
Get the salt and vinegar out… or Salt and Battery.
