Fully expecting the Police helicopter to be active and patrolling the area that morning ![]()
Lol, are you looking at the same navigation warming I’m looking at? ![]()
You’d probably get some reasonable footage from that little park to the southeast of the flats, outside the blue zone and close enough to see the action, far enough away for the blast not to affect the drone. And, so far as I can tell, 100% legit!
What is ![]()
That’s school playing fields, and there’s a whacking great hill between there and the flats
It’s a controlled explosion, not a thermonuclear detonation. ![]()
To be fair at the first fidlers ferry demolition I got an interference warning and lost some bars of signal, coincided with the flash of the det cord. Looking at google maps that was 650-700m away.
Or you could just fly anywhere in the navigation warning area @1AlanM because it’s still only a navigation warning ![]()
Here’s another navigation warning of a crane being quite tall and having a light on the top of it.
You can still fly here.
Much like the demolition warning, this NOTAM is only a warning to let you know it’s there. It’s not a flight restriction.
I have a spot inside the warning area in mind that should give clear views.

Ooh er! I’ve never seen warnings of gps signal jammers before.
Seems to be a fairly new-ish thing for the Festival but I get the point. Not sure how ’ active ’ this signal jamming is but I wouldn’t like to test the theory.
If GPS jamming is effective - most of the people going to the event won’t ever get there with their Sat-Nav being wonky. ![]()
Please share any aerial photographs or video you capture of the lasers @MrG1 ![]()
It’s only active from 5pm to 8pm so a nice short window to catch something unusual.
What is an Environmental Avoid? Only applies to military aircraft.
