Solar panel survey … apparently.
No more CFT’s for me I would be lucky to run 5 yards without falling over these days😂
I remember when we did the trials on the ski jumps in the 70’s using Harriers at Culdrose the Navy forget it was the Royal Engineers built these on land using Baily and Christchurch cribs under the gaze of the Boffins from MEXE that watched the trials we also trialled new arrester gear for aircraft coming back to the carrier.
I wish we had drones in the 70’s especially when we carried out Airfield Damage Repair(ADR) on RAF airfields in Germany, watching the way and co-ordination of the Plant filled in craters was a sight to behold. I ended up laying pipes with a couple of Sappers to provide emergency fuel supply for Jaguar aircraft, there were Helicopters on site but the RAF wouldn’t let us use them to film the ADR.
A post was merged into an existing topic: Mystery drones seen over three US air bases in UK
Ive not noticed these before, Notams in place for Premier League football games
But not all the games ![]()
The stadiums used to be covered by DJI FRZ which required an unlock
Probably only the games where Batcam are involved.
Strange that the notam isn’t over the stadium though, were the other ones you noticed some distance off too?
That makes sense of only some games, the televised ones
They wont be able to overfly the stadium whilst the game is on
Wonder if it correlates to anticipated trouble and police response? If I recall, pretty much the whole of Glasgow was an NFZ for the Old Firm match last month (and pretty much the whole of Glasgow saw eejits in Santa hats and balaclavas kicking blue and green sh*te out of each other).
Ah, hence them taking off and flying from the local school playing field then ![]()
Wonder how many people will report seeing a drone “over” the stadium ![]()
This one is only a warning by the looks of things, Joe - not a temporary airspace restriction.
Batcam are the outdoor broadcast firm, probably flying their own drones from next door:
Ahh… that’ll teach me to read properly before answering ![]()
(also… ahh, so just Glasgow that needs to lock down the whole city ahead of a friendly football match?
)

I have noticed a few drone shots recently on the run up to matches , mostly general stadium shots just before kickoff
They used to use the blimp , think it’s UAV now
@StunningDrone Interesting NOTAM from Feb-May! Mobile number is Maritime Filming UK.
I presume that’s not going to be temp flight restriction so I’m going to crack on as normal being aware of other flying activity if and when I’m around Mayflower Park.
Hi and thanks for the heads up. Does seem a little strange. I might call them and ask what they are doing. Let me know how you get on.
I think it’s this
You can take a small stepladder with you…
