Jelly Effect on DJI Flip

I do have it, but I could only care refresh it two times. Should I try waiting if I firmware update solves the problem for now so I could care refresh it later?

About the frame rate, it’s recording at 30fps D-LOG M, just screen recorded at 60hz.

At 30fps, then it reduces what I feel might be a speed of jello to fps incompatibility.

If all your vids have been D-Log … then try the Normal codec and see if it’s the same.

The onboard processor has to do some real-time wizardry to create D-Log … and less so for Normal.

If it’s only visible in D-Log … then that adds weight to the onboard processor being the issue.

Might a firmware update resolve? Hmmm … not if it’s just you. If the issue is across the board for all users … then possibly.

Okay, thanks a lot for the insight. How would I try to resolve “fps incompatibility”?

That’s not something that’s “fixable” … just if there is a vibration based jello issue, I wouldn’t expect it to manifest so slowly if the fps had been 60fps.

As I understand it, vibration jello is where the sensor is caused to move in the short space of time between frames being recorded. Faster frame rates mean there’s less chance of that happening, and it would be smaller in magnitude.

I also noticed a slight nick right there on the right propeller. Could this be the issue?

That’s a non moving part, so I’d think unlikely.

So from here, I should try

  1. Turning off D-Log
  2. shooting in 60fps

Is that correct?

Just try changing D-Log to Normal.

If you change two things and it improves you won’t know which was the reason.

fps in itself won’t be the cause, only change how visible it might be.

Or warranty even?

Not seen any jelly but I’ve only been using it for filming me on a bike, not any high up aerial shots that would show that…

Haha, might be slightly off-topic, but your reviews about the DJI Flip are amongst the best out there, and it’s been really helpful for me before I bought the drone. Just wanted to say thank you :+1:

Just asking, would the crash potentially void the warranty/ limit on what I could claim on the warranty?

For definate , and the crack will give it away :frowning:

Plus the flight data they would analyse

Is it possible to wipe the flight data from my RC2 and drone? If that helps (I formatted the RC2 for my last drone)

They DJI already have it  it’s uploaded by the fly app

Why do you want to wipe it

Cheers!

Sent it back to DJI now, hopefully DJI replaces it :crossed_fingers:
