Just arrived in uk few question about drones

I’ve got a mavic air 1 (I know thats sh*t), it seems that signal drops from about 200m (where ever it is, in town or even fields). It’s redicious since I can easily fly as far as 2500m+ in a city in China(with CE), is there any restrictions for transmission power in uk? It’s kind of weird.
Anyway I’ve been trying to ship a mavic 3 pro from China, it might be arriving within half a month or I don’t know. So is there any place with splendid views which is suitable for drones? I’ve been to Eastbourne with my air1 and got awesome pics. So if anyone know any place like this please let me know. Many thanks. :grinning:

Hi and welcome @smtp25
I know nothing of the air 1, so can’t help you there. The signal strength here is limited, can’t remember to what, but it can be got round depending on drone and firmware versions. You’d have to do some searching in the forum to get your answers. But bare in mind that boosting the transmission power could be illegal here, someone in England recently got into trouble for it but they were caught because they were being stupid and flying when they shouldn’t!
I’d recommend clicking the very last link on the post above, i know you’re not a beginner but it will provide you with most of the information required to fly safely and legally un the uk.

Hi mate, welcome.

The original Mavic Air was pretty good at the time, I had two for a while. One I bought new, and the other I got from eBay (very, very cheaply) because it was overheating. Took it to pieces and found that somebody in the factory had left a iece of double sided tape stuck to the front of the cooling fan, pulled that off, put everything back together, flew brilliantly. Sold it a couple of months later and made nearly 200 quid for 20 mniutes work!
