I know my first PC had a 40mb hdd in it and as it was to replace my old Atari ST it was a magical amazing unfillable amount of drive space LOL Doom, Duke Nukem, Quake all classics

My first proper PC was a 8086 with 2 x 5.25" bays with monochrome monitor. No HDD and just MS DOS for an OS. I then upgraded to a 286 which also had the same 2 bays, no HDD. I had Windows 3.1 and booted it off the floppy disk drive each time. Eventually, I upgraded it to include a 40mb HDD. I ran out of space (eventually) and still recall asking my mum to drive me on a 120 mile round trip to Swansea and back to collect my new 108mb HDD :joy:

Every upgrade was £100, be it a new drive, memory module or graphics card.

Good old days

Micro Power in Leeds was my first go to.

To be honest, you need RAM to be efficient with video editing. 32GB RAM nexessary. 8gb is not enough for Windows to work efficiently. Graphics card is ok

Not so, bannerman. Adobe Premiere allows you to harness the graphics card for video work. I’d imagine other softwares like Final Cut do too. I guess you can use it to process anything… like bitcoin mining.

Personally I would find a couple more hundred and get a Mackbook. I got sick of windows went to mack boy it rockets when editing video.

I have Dell XPS 15 and got it especially at the time to handle 4k videos and to learn FPV with liftoff simulator and definitely handled all ok I can boot up Adobe and other programs for editing with no freezing.
