Strangely it’s not discounted on the Amazon App Store and is still £21.99 there
This is bound to have been asked elsewhere, but I can’t for the life of me find any discussion. Sorry about that.
Is it possible to install Litchi on to the DJI Smart Controller. NOT the Smart Controller Pro - which I see most people discussing when they talk about installing Litchi on a “Smart Controller”?
I assume that it would need to be side loaded, but it’s a little vague as to whether it will install on the “Non-Pro” Smart Controller?
@B0M0A0K yes, the thread you’re looking for is here: Litchi on the DJI Smart Controller - #20 by PingSpike
Found this, not sure if it’s been posted before but maybe useful
So here’s a newbie question.
I’m contemplating trying out Litchi on my Mini 2. I have the RC-N1 (standard) remote control, which I share with my Mini 3 Pro, and I have two phones I can use for the flying apps. I’d like to think that I could have the Litchi App on my old phone to fly the Mini 2 and the regular DJI Fly app on my new phone for Mini 3 Pro flights.
One of the annoying things at the moment is that if I switch from Mini 2 to Mini 3 the firmware of the controller (or is it just the app?) has to be updated and the device switched to the current drone, a process that can be completed only with a wifi or data link, I believe.
If I use Litchi does that mean I can expect the two sets of kit with a shared controller to work without the need to update or change the firmware when I switch from one to the other?
I’m not familiar with the Fly App generation of gizmos (I’m still MP/Go4) … but from experience (I’m not up-to-date with firmwares), and other posts over the years, but Litchi is Litchi wherever it’s being used and never worries about firmware versions. It either connects or it doesn’t … and I’ve never heard of a “doesn’t”. (It’s also why some only use Litchi - and never Go4/Fly.)
So I’d reckon you should be fine.
No, you will still need to do the firmware update with the DJI fly app and then switch to Litchi
This is because the controller can only run one firmware at a time and because the drones use a different transmission protocol O2 v O3
Video Transmission System
When used with different aircraft hardware configurations, both remote controllers will automatically select the corresponding firmware version for updating and support the following transmission technologies enabled by the hardware performance of the linked aircraft models:
Thanks, that’s clear @SparkyFPV.
