Llanddwyn Island and Lighthouse - Added to Coastal Scenery in Wales

I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:

Land owner permission requirements unknown.

Park in the Newborough Woods car park (£5 and worth every penny), walk up the beach to the island. Fly skirting the island over to the lighthouses and also along the beach. Amazing scenery, beautiful woods and beach. Snowdonia in the background (very hazy when I flew). Woods have many red squirrels if you have the time.

The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 17/09/2020. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location.

I want to fly here @Mavic2Pro, have you got any tips or advice on where to park or take off from?

Parking is about a miles away - a large car park and then a walk up the beach. You can walk on to the island at low tide and take off from anywhere on there.

Parkrun is on every Saturday morning so gets very busy, keep an eye on the tide times to get onto the island.

As of 1/5/2026. If you want to park on the closest car park to the island. As previously said the beach car park. Parking is now controlled by a remote APNC cameras. You cannot pay in person, at the car park, and you will need to have the ringgo app to book and pay for time on the car park. Costs at present are - £5 for 2 hours and a further 70p for every twenty mins after that. Rising to a max £15. No overnight parking. The car park closes a 23:00.
The site has toilet & refreshment areas, The forest , beaches and Island are beautiful. Check tide times before
travelling as hightides will limit access to the island. Or worse leave you trapped on it…

Hi Guys. I am newbie here, and beginner drone operaror. Can fly safely here before 7am and after 6pm avoiding RAF operations? What can you recommend me?

There are no restrictions at this location.

You can check this on Drone Scene that, as a Silver member, you have full access to.
