It’s been Tango’d!
I like it…quickly opens a new tab to find the mini 2 drone wrap sites.
@clinkadink I also found these mounts for strobon crees that are 3d printable…

Looks good Chris.
While you were decking out Tango did you tell it what was expected?
Not, yet. Going to lull into a false sense of security
These are excellent, and surprisingly loud for their size, but it’s also amazing how that sound gets eaten up out in the big wide world.
Nevertheless, one of them was instrumental in helping me locate my errant Crocodile Baby several hours after getting disoriented and landing it blind, I knew not where, at Willington.
Also came in handy a couple of times at this weekend’s session at Harborough - massively aided by a youngster with better high frequency perception and probably no tinnitus, I might add.
I’m also rather enamoured with the bright orange Mini 2.
Good to hear. I can’t comment, as I’ve not used it out in the field yet. And I do wonder how effective this would be in windy conditions. Still, it offers peace of mind, should the worst happen.
Don’t get me wrong, they’re definitely a massive help, but it’s a bit like the difference between looking at a Strobon the first time you turn it on (the way everyone does, despite warnings) and how it actually looks up in the sky.
I’ve got the Firehouse Arc V - did exactly that and swear it took me back to my “stupid” welding days…
I used to use a cheap RF-V16 tracker for long range stuff back in the day.
Think it was about £20 and tenner for O2 SIM and credit. Weighs 22g.
You do need a GSM signal to get a location though.
The Aidata data suggested that it ended up upside-down … so if the tracker was on top it wouldn’t be much use.
So - one on top, one underneath. one on the nose, one on the tail … must be getting up to 500g.
Yeah if there’s no GPS it gives you a rough location based on cell service.
Mine did get a full GPS fix in the house.
The drone itself thought it manage to get another 6km in a few seconds … that’s how naff GPS fixes can be without decent satellites.
You lost it in the house? Time for a tidy up!
or a smaller mansion…
Hmmm…
This is interesting…
@clinkadink Storm Babet coming Chris. Does that sound like a challenge or will it be too wet?
Talk about coincidence!
Haha. Looked for a newer thread but my porridge was going cold!
I flew my M3P yesterday at 6pm to take a pic for the current RTF comp. Within 20 seconds of take off at 38m high I was getting the strong winds warning. Got over where I took my photo’s and had to rise to about 75m to take the shots. Just lining up the shots was tricky enough as it was being buffeted, but manage a few. Lowered height and returned to where I was, then straight up , a few sunset shots for the local interest group on FaceAche, land and buggered off back indoors.
It’s fun flying when it’s windy. ( not)
