Tbh we setup in one of the little out houses when I went between showers, but 70 percentā¦ I am temptedā¦ Plenty of cover I guess and inside flyingā¦nearly 2 years since I went thoughā¦
Then again only just got the nice 5 incher back in air!

Hi I missed the time before the one that was cancelled wasnāt sure weāre the place was ? So today I thought take a drive and look, Matlock was a nightmare to get though but I found the place is there a magic trick to get in came across two gates the first one you can walk round but the second one no chance. Iām not going to climb over a stone wall last time I did that got two broken ankles 
So if thereās an easy way to get in and the weather is kind to us I will definitely be there oldtimer

Matlock is, indeed, a bit of a mare for the foreseeable due to major works on the A6 and its diversion through the town centreā¦
Depends which end you approached from, and if anythingās changed since I was last there (a good few months ago now).
If you park up at (1), there was just the one gate you could walk around, roughly where the red line is.
If you park at (2), it is/was possible to go in the bottom way, although it is a much longer walk and there was an area of that temporary wire fencing below the new flats, as indicated by the oval, but there were gaps you could squeeze through.
At one point, theyād also tried to isolate the old Permanite factory itself with this temporary fencing, but that was mostly laid flat last time I was there.
As Iām possibly the most local, Iāll have a little trip out this evening and see what the current situation is.
For information, the A6 is closed at (3), so youāll be sent round the indicated diversion if approaching from/leaving by the South East.
Thank you it looks as if I was at No 1 thatās the first gate about 100m further on is another gate which I couldnāt see a way round that had a sign reading anti climbing paint and cctv 24h monitoring I think thatās a joke,if you do go today can you let us know if Iām right about the gates oldtimer 71
