I do this everytime too
Update: despite agreeing that I’m running the current firmware, DJI support have asked me to update using DJI Assistant 2. Will let you know if there’s no change…
Thanks for everyone’s help
You will see that the smart controller runs through a series of checks of firmware/software versions every time you start.
Meant version not ‘erosion’
Sloppy typist sorry
And each time it tells me it’s up-to-date
the camera works to begin with…the issue is still while i’m trying to self-authorise in restricted areas that it goes black
Ok. Sorry I can’t help. Hope you get it sorted
May be totally unrelated but there are a lot of posts on this DJI forum thread about Smart Controllers black-screening, along with various advice on things you could try.
Does this only happen when using the Smart Controller?
Have you tried another device?
Really helpful, thanks
I haven’t, no
Could be worth it to locate where the issue lies.
I got in touch with DJI who told me to do a firmware update using DJI Assistant on my laptop, even though I was already up to date. I hadn’t had a chance to fly it again until about an hour ago though… same problem!!!
Not been able to test a different controller as I don’t have one
Update: since installing the latest smart controller update I don’t think I’ve had any blackout issues again… is that the same for everyone else or have I just been lucky so far?
