Thanks again for the advice guys. I dont think he will take payment after delivery. The trouble I have is Im attracted to a bargain like flies around a turd But Im also not keen on getting ripped off. If I get it and the camera doesnt work properly or the signal is lost too soon because theres an issue with reception at range or something I will be screwed. The guy seems genuine but you just cant be sure.
I’ve always followed the rule of “if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is” I’ve probably missed some bargains in the past and I’ve probably saved myself from getting ripped off. It’s a catch 22. I guess that’s the whole gamble you take.
Good luck with what ever you decide
I think thats sound advice Deano. I cant afford to buy twice and have already doubled my original budget so if its a scam or it ends up faulty my drone dream will be over before it starts so I think thats answered my question. Ill stick with the new Air 2 with warranty and just pay the extra. I may miss out on a bargain but at least I know what Im getting. Plus I think the Air 2 will be a better drone for me to start with and will cover my needs no problem.
I can’t really comment on the MP2 as I’ve never flown one or even seen one in person. But the quality of the Air2 that I do own is incredible and more than covers my needs as a hobbyist flyer.
This is a sample of a video that I shot on the Air 2 last week at Stafford Castle
All the camera settings are on auto, I’ve adjusted my gimbal movement settings to slow them down and smooth them out in the Fly app settings. I also used spotlight active track mode for some of the movements. And was super easy edited using iMovie on my macbook pro
Just put that up on my big tv and it looks great! Any suggestions on free editing software I can use on windows? I dont have a mac so cant use imovie.
I’m not sure on the video editing for windows as I’ve always used iMovie. Might be worth having a search around on here I’m sure there will be a thread somewhere discussing video editing software
DaVinci Resolve is a software
that’s often recommended for Windows.
Try this thread
If MS Movie Maker is on your PC then it’s very easy for a beginner to use, much simpler than Da Vinci.
Thanks again guys I will check them out
Have just taken my CAA registration test so thats another thing off the list. Was ALOT easier than I thought it would be. Just all common sense really.
So now just got to wait for tuesdays delivery and I can get the drones firmware upto date and batteries charged etc then I can hopefully get airbourne wednesday evening weather permitting
Look forward to your first vid and pics
Me too! Will concentrate on learning to control it first before I start taking pics and build my confidence
Just keep an eye on the “For sale” section Thursday morning. There may be a bargain on there.
“Brand new Mavic Air 2. One careful owner only. Flight time approx 1 hr only. Decided I dont have the time for drone flying. £800 ono”
let’s hope not lol
