Mavic Mini propellors

I had my Mavic Mini out today. Its very cold but no wind and sunny. Once airborne, it informed me that the propellors were spinning too fast and come into land. I think it said check props and run for 5 minutes. When it took off again, the same happened. I was able to fly for a while but the same message came up again.I did have the propellors strapped down with a genuine DJI velcro strap and haven’t used the drone for about 4-5 weeks. I can only find non-genuine propellors or secondhand sets on eBay. I do have a new genuine unused set but its difficult to see if any of the blades are warped. I suppose I could take them off one at a time and examine (I have only 4 blades) Any advice please. Mainly, any experience of non-genuine blades. Thanks in advance.

One piece of advise I was once given in relation to 3rd party props.
If you have a problem, and you had non-DJI props on it, would that be an issue?
Would they know?
Would it affect any claim?

I don’t know the answer, but just something to consider

I’m sure it would. My drone has no warranty or insurance in place so that wouldn’t worry me much. Thanks for the advice anyway

Just a guess, would not be weather / ice related maybe, as said just a guess.

I did wonder that. It was very cold out!

I had the same problem with my Mini 2. When stored in a case, one of the props was gently resting on the base, and over a period of time it changed the blade angle by a small amount. This ‘bend’ was almost imperceptible unless carefully compared to the other blade on the same motor.
Replacing with Master Airscrew’s stiffer blades sorted out the problem.

Very useful info. I managed to get a genuine set off Amazon from the DJI store. I’m sure that’s what’s happened to one or two blades. I can see one is not right. Thanks again

Had this today, out with the Mavic Mini, no idea if it has DJI props but quite possibly not as it’s 2ndhand. Because of succesive problems with the r/cs for this drone, today was the first time I’ve flown it with everything working properly and this came up, within a few seconds of take-off.

I landed, checked that nothing had overheated and that the prop bolts were all nipped up tight, which they were, and took off again in C mode (previously in N), with which the flight contiued without any further problems. I notice that the OP was flying on a cold clear day like today, but probably colder, though whether this has any bearing on the matter I have no idea! Worrying, though.

ChrisC2’s tip about Master Airscrew’s stiff props might worth checking out.

I’m pretty sureTO mode is always in N, despite the position of the RC switch John. It’s a DJI safety feature. You have to switch it to N (whilst in flight) from C or S, depending how you left it before TO, and then back to C or S depending on your preference. Of course, you can leave it to fly in N as well.

I think you are probably right about the take-off mode I flew again yesterday avo, nothing particularly adventurous, just sent it up hovering at 30’ in N mode while I checked out some of the features on my new Maven app, but it was the full 25minutes flying time until the low battery warning. There were no warnings apart from the low battery for the entire duration of the flight. Probably a one-off because the drone hadn’t flown for two weeks until Friday.
