I’m organising a meetup at Southmoor Nature reserve :smiley:

Where:

When: Sunday, 12th October 2025

Start time: 13:30

Approximate end time: 17:30

Suitable for drone types: Camera Drones & FPV Drones

Additional notes:
Sea to the south, industrial estate to the north, Portsmouth west and bridges to Hayling Island to the east. there are two parking areas, one at rthe sea wall and one at the circle in the field (see map).

We will try the area at the circle first, slight elevation allowing good VLOS and the field fringed by vegetation to catch rogue and flyaway drones.

Newcomers welcome though you wiil be taught bad habits by the old lags attending.

There are no facilities so bring drink and food if you wish. Dog friendly. Parking free on Sundays. Tesco is 1 mile away and open till 4pm.

TOAL from the sea wall is also possible, depending on how many attend and how many civilians are around, it may be preferable.

Weather forecast for the meet is ok with 8 days to go, if that changes you will be notified. If coming from a distance check the meetup thread before setting off. Ideally have Gret Arrows saved to your home screen on your phone :slight_smile:

Well spotted! I wondered who would be the first to catch my deliberate mistake.

I rushed the posting as I had a time -sensitive competion running on another site.

It’s open to whatever you want to bring, FPV, camera drones, rockcrawlers, model boats …

I’ll be bringing coat hangers and wire cutters along in case certain people get a tad too enthusiastic.

Hey Rob @macspite I’ve just got back home from the hospital where I’ve had my foot checked over…and it’s not good news I’m afraid. My right foot has developed a further problem and, after treating it, they’ved advised staying off my feet for the immediate future. However, I’m fully confident of my attendance at this Meet Up but I wanted to give you a heads up just in case things don’t improve. :woozy_face::face_with_steam_from_nose:
