Meetup at Southmoor Nature reserve, Havant, South East at 13:30 on Sunday, 12th October 2025

Running late (work ), will be there asap.

Am so gutted to miss this, I prepared everything early last night, charged up batteries for the Grinderino and Whoop, worked out a route that avoided motorway and we got the perfect weather for it.

But I’m such a tinkerer and I tried to add the proper buzzer and fix my HD OSD before going to bed, which introduced a short somehow (some reason connecting to UART 6 was tripping the smoke stopper every time I clicked the VTX plug in, but I I had checked for continuity at the pads and thought it was the pressure of the plug on the ESC causing it).

So I faffed around looking for the cause and rearranging things till 9 in the morning (when I switched to UART 1 and all the issues went away).

Am gutted as was really looking forward to the trip, and this is end of summer so may not be many as nice more for a while. If nothing else it was a good practice run for loading the bike with drone stuff.

I am hoping you all have a great time as the weather is amazing today, enjoy!

The weather may yet surprise us. We had a good afternoon.

This was more of a practice field for FPV rather than loads of obstacles, FPV seems to be more of a thing the further you go upcountry.

If anyone wants to prove me wrong then please feel free to set up a Southern FPV meet - it is very easy to do so in Drone Scene

A great meetup .. three people all the way from London (even if one of them seems to spend more time down here on the Hants coast than he does at home in Greater London. )

Great effort by @Sam5 (being one of those from London - and the lone FPV-er) - train and Uber getting him to the lower car park … and then having to wander about for 20 mins to work out how to get to where we actually were. At least he saw the drones and new we were there .. :+1:

If it helps, all the check in states are stored on Drone Scene.

Throughout the duration of the meetup you can return to the check in list at any time, from any device, and it’ll carry on

Yet another very successful Regional Meet Up by the Logistics and Quartermaster himself…Rob @macspite

A beautiful sunny afternoon in mid October! :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Some very good company with likeminded friends and even some new faces who traveled from afar to join in the shenanigans!
