Mini 3 Pro "Sphere" stops at 25%

Picked up the Mini 3 Pro [RC Pro] yesterday and all the latest updates/firmware were downloaded and installed.

Yet I’ve had a couple of issues so far.

  1. [Solved] Map and flight path wasn’t being displayed. I played with the Android settings, connected it to my phone’s hotspot, and finally it started working. That was yesterday, and all seems well again this morning.
  2. Pano > Sphere is not working. Each time I try, it stops at 25%. The screen has not frozen, as I am able to press the stop button at any time. I have tried waiting a minute, but no joy. There are no errors on the screen, e.g. Gimbal Stuck. The RC gallery and SD card have not saved any of the 25% of photos either (not that they would be much use).

I see no physical issue with the gimbal. All non-pano photos and videos are level with a straight horizon. 180 panos work fine. I have restarted the device and tried a different battery. But still have the same issue. I have searched the forum and online, but cannot find anyone else experiencing the same, nor have I witnessed anything like it on my previous drones.

Has any other Mini 3 Pro user @group-mini-3-pro experienced this Sphere issue?

Have you tried a ‘normal’ controller ? (Rule out the drone)

No, not yet. Good call. Process of elimination, and all that :+1:

If you touch anything on the controller or any form of wind, the sphere stops. I have had mine stop a couple of times due to the wind effect.

Try doing a sphere 3m off the floor and see what happens.

The first time it happened, that is exactly what I thought happened … me accidentally pressing one of the buttons on the back. But the next time I tried it, I put the controller on the table - but exact same issue.

It was very calm this morning, only 8 mph.

Will do, I’ll let you know … cheers Steve.

Is your sd card fast enough? Could be not writing to the card quickly enough to keep up with the camera

Yes, should be fine, as I only use Sandisk Extreme Pro. But a good shout :+1:

have done many - but only had the issue where I incorrectly stopped it by moving the sticks.

So I wonder whether it is the controller detecting a movement of the sticks

Even more random - that ATTI patch - still in place? Worth removing?

Cheers Ian. I also tried with the controller on the table, and had the same issue.

however if the sticks are still moving somehow.

Do you get any message when it stops?

Yes. And I did think of that. But can’t see how changing tripod/cine mode to atti … especially when I was in normal mode would affect it

Maybe it’s still shaking in fear that you may try the 100mph+ speed run, so it can’t concentrate.

Half tempted to mark this as the solution :joy:

“Cause”, not a “solutions”. :stuck_out_tongue:

Time to re-flash all firmware. My downward sensors stopped working (resulting in a heavy landing :fearful:) and re-flashing the MP fixed it.

It’s not even a day old and you have broken It :joy:

Just swapped batteries and restarted the rc and drone. I even had my Mini 2 N1 controller ready with my phone, as per @milkmanchris’ suggestion.

Took it up to about 100 feet (close to 3m :joy:) … and it worked :fearful:

So what was that about? Same drone, rc, sd card, different altitude (400’ vs 100’) and different battery

Does Airdata give any clues?
