Hello
Has anybody out there got an MJX Bugs 18 drone and could you please give some feedback as I am thinking of buying one?
Ta very much
norcimguy.
Personal opinion, I’d save up a little extra and get yourself a DJI Mini 2 as you can pick them up relatively cheaply these days and you will have a far better experience. Just some food for thought
Any company that needs to state “brushless motors” and “2 way communication” in it’s headline specs gets a no from me. They sell for around £240 on Aliexpress. For that, you could easily get a DJI Mini SE, which is much better.
Here’s one for £199.

But as @DeanoG60 states, I would 100% recommend paying a few more quid for a DJI Mini 2. You can pick them up on ebay for under £300.
or if you become a paid member here at GADC you could have a go at winning a DJI Mini 3 in the current raffle that is going on right now.

Thanks guys
It looks as if the way to go is under 250grms.? Is this thinking just for more freedom of regulations or are the DJI drones/cameras better for the price? Bangood are doing the MJX Bugs 18 new for £197, think that is with two batteries but the website gives the same price for one or two batteries at the moment, for some reason.
Not too sure about buying second-hand. Mmm.
Yes.
Not too long ago, you had to forego weight for camera quality, not anymore.
If you buy this, I’m pretty sure you’ll end upgrading to a DJi within month. It would be dead money.
I’d buy DJI third hand rather than MJX tat. Just saying. With DJI, you are not just getting quality, you are accelerating your learning too. If you skimp and buy a cheapo drone, you will take a lot longer to learn. Fact.
Look at it this way;, how many people on here post about their Bugs/MJX drones? Now how many on here post about DJI/Autel drones.
For every 1 post regarding the cheaper drones, there must be at least 100 about DJI (not so many Autel) and it’s not because they’re cheap to buy trust me! They sell more because the service is better (buy one from the DJI site, it’ll be delivered within 48 hours), the quality is better, the camera is better, the technology is etc etc.
Save a bit more money, buy a DJI, even second hand, and at least you’ll still be able to fly it after a month, and if you crash it and break it, you’ll be able to get it fixed, unlike the cheap stuff.
But, you pays your money, you makes your choice!
Thanks for the detailed replies you Guys. I have just been looking at the DJI drones but they are three times the price of the Bugs 18. (even at the starting end price). I have been flying a MJX Bugs 2 which cost less than £100 a couple of years ago and it has not given any problems. must admit that I am probably not a ‘proper’ drone flyer as I get the buzz out of just flying around like a model aircraft. I rarely bother with taking photos or video. Probably comes from a long history of model aircraft flying. (drones are easier to fly than model aircraft when you get older). However, I do take on board all the advice and will eventually buy something.
Look into FPV
No, 'tis the way of the devil!!!
This
its certainly a money drain
