Apart from the temporary restrictions due to helicopters landing in the area, what is the issue with flying a drone near the racecourse ?
Or was it simply due to those restrictions ?
Not sure about the details but it is something to do with beating the bookies, the feed to the betting shops has a delay and this is in real time so they can theoretically bet ahead of the bookies. I stand to be corrected by those more knowledgeable.
These guys put bets on who’s gonna lose - the horses not showed on screen on the tele box. So they can take advantage of the drone being able to see who’s at the back abs make a bet while the race is still on.
It’s an entire industry
