My First night flight around Bournemouth city centre. Not too bad, need to look at some settings. Happy for any feed back or recommendations.
Looking good, what drone are you flying here ?
I sent mine up a couple of nights ago! I wasn’t very confident not being able to see it! Could see the flashing light but made me feel disorientated
Will give it another go at some point
Brilliant and good music. Love the confidence of night flying. Just jealous!
Looks like a model village at times! Great vid- hard to do one shot without edit but captured well.
You’ve inspired me- always fancied doing the Poole Bus Station at night or getting St Pauls on a long exposure with the car lights trailling…
You are flying over a road with traffic. Is that OK? I’m scared that I will be told off if I do that. Nice footage!
I have a DJI Mini Pro 4 Just give it a go
Thank you, night flying for the first time was squeaky bum time at the beginning, after a couple of minutes it felt ok.
Poole bus station would be a good location, give it a go.
Thank you
Very nice work.
Cheers fella
The mini 4 definitely handles the dark better than my mini 2se!
Had a horrible moment last night… You inspired me so I parked on the west cliff and flew off to the pier… Wanted to get one last shot so i stupidly ignored the return to home (We’ve all done it) and half way back got critical battery
Landed it on the promenade in the dark and sped down there cursing myself the whole way… In my panic I ran straight past it. Only when I took a minute and concentrated did I realise and ran back. A group of teenagers were playing up right next to it but thankfully didn’t touch it. You can imagine my relief knowing how pitch black it is that I saved it!
Lesson well and truly learnt to NEVER IGNORE LOW BATTERY again
Glad you found it OK, I always let it return to shoot another day. Will you be sharing your footage? I was on Keyhaven beach yesterday waiting for the sunset when some one ran past me trying to get their drone. They were sat in the lighthouse cafe and flew the drone to Hurst castle (approx 3km) away. He ran out of battery and landed on the beach. When he came back past me he said he ignored the return to home and low battery warnings.
It was a learning curve for sure! Not really any video, I was playing with the settings whilst up (and using battery!) and got a couple of half ok bits. Don’t think the 2SE is really suited to night like yours, played with the settings a bit (whilst using up battery!) but not entirely happy with the results- and then had no interest in flying even after my heart had returned to normal!
It happens, and DJI have produced some awesome hardware that lessens the risk slightly but we still push it (or I did!), glad it’s not just me!
Nothing with a WOW factor, but the best of the worst (unedited, low res)…
Really good They came out well.
If the drone is under 250g (it is) then you can fly it pretty much anywhere.
You can’t fly over a crowd, but there is no specific required separation from uninvolved people.
That said, I dont think I’d fly over a motorway anytime soon… just in case!
I really loved that flight buddy. I love night flights as it brings night to life with all those car headlights buzzing around on the ground like a colony of Ants.
With hours I work I find it difficult to fly day time, but wanting to get shots of a Castle in Roundhay Park that I use to climb as a Child.
Also at work, we are having construction work done so boss now and again my ask me to use my Mini 4 Pro to get aerial photos of progress. Will my GADC Liability insurance cover me if anything happens? I wont be getting paid for footage so not like a business it would be more a favour.
@Wadda-C2 Please do not take this thread off topic. Please contact info@greyarro.ws to discuss your insurance requirements.
I guess I’m lucky as the drone is part of my job
Do you mind me asking what job you do mate?
