At the distance he was from the building any magnetic anomaly it may have created would be infinitesimal. Even if it housed a bunch of active MRI scanners Coulomb’s Inverse Square Law would show no appreciable effect on the drones compass at such a distance.
Don’t know how I missed this thread, one of my favourite flying locations is the old graving docks (at 4:10 in your video). Did you see your Mavic Air as it came around the Tower, were there any seagulls? I fly over the basin at the Tower, where the Queen Mary is berthed, a lot and can confirm there is always lots of gulls. I had 4 of them getting close to me there yesterday, the only way to get away is to climb quickly.
I’ve also had interference when flying near the BBC Scotland and STV building (next door), now I just keep away from them.
Thank you all for the interest and advice.
@macspite and @Jhdee : I followed your recommendation and joined FPVUK just for the public liability cover
@SparkyFPV : there’s mixed evidence, at best, for the “compass error” analysis - I am not sure the compass alone can explain the 70mph fall from the sky. @Nidge also suggests it is probably not a factor. Nonetheless, the recommended YouTube video was a good reminder of the basics.
@Drumsagard : there were seagulls in the distance, but I find it unlikely to have 20 seconds of “crashing” footage and not see any of the bird(s) during this constant attack

On the “up” side, I flew for some time around the Kelpies yesterday:
and have completed Litchi missions elsewhere, so my confidence in the aircraft is building up again…
Those horses have found some seriously deep quick-sand!
Wow that was way too close for comfort and the speed was crazy.
