New Brighton Lighthouse - Added to Lighthouses in North West

I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:

Land owner permission requirements unknown.

Plenty of place to park. Great foreground for sunset

The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 18/08/2020. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location.

Thanks for adding to the DroneScene map, @Geoff.C.

B&W is so underused. I can recall when it was pretty much all I could afford!

That’s a stunning B&W photo!!!

Here is an unedited video o a flight I made here last week, as can be seen I took off and landed and the edge of the beach right beside Fort Perch Rock. New Brighton is accessible by Mersey Rail trains, thought it is a very steep hill down and back up to the railway station but just about doable with a wheelchair.

I’ve flown here too @Geoff.C

I love this photograph, I really think that in black and white it highlights the shadows a lot more especially in the sand.

Checking the drone assist map etc there is a continuous yellow block around the whole beach area ,would love to fly here when next in Liverpool.
As things changed for drones now in 2025.

They are in administration

What does DroneScene say ?

I’m going to take out membership now to find out, been bronze for some time.
And now drone assist is no longer will need to rely on this website.

Can I ask you what location you took off from, I checked the map and can only see the purple crown estate area which is far out, or does the yellow section need permission if so who from.

Is an SSSI and the details can be found here

Thank you

Stuart @Skyla it would be helpful if you could let us know what the “yellow section” you’re looking at actually is, rather than just referencing a colour

Railway lines show up as yellow, as do electricity pylons, schools, all sorts of things can be yellow.

If you click on the area / item / thing, it’ll tell you what it is.

If you then tell us what it is, you’ll get a very informed reply from another club member

It’s a long beach and stretches for miles now all covered by SSCI and not worth getting in to the wild bird protection act, the spot in question is near the lighthouse, just sand and water the area is when I checked is protected by SSCI and checked the natural England website and this comes up as a protected area. So was wondering weather the pictures taken by members were taken before these restrictions came in as some are only this year. Will look now at other options.

Are you misunderstanding the drone regulations with regards to SSSIs perhaps?
