New Droner - Blackfen area (SE London)

My user name is Zed1 (came up by default). My name is Neil, I have only recently bought a mini 5 pro and flown it a couple of times. I have done video editing over the years, all just for pleasure/friends. I am in the Blackfen area (SE London) and so near London and the countryside. A few places local to me are Danson Park and Foots Cray Meadows. I flew around the 5 arches in Foots Cray today. No signs displayed relating to Drones, only " No Fishing, BBQs " etc. I have checked that Bexley Byelaws do not mention drones. On their website, I found a “note” that they “ban drones”. I doubt if this has any legal weight, maybe it’s too costly to get their Byelaws updated. Obviously, the permission to TOAL is an issue. It appears that using the public footpath/right of way for TOAL seems a bit flaky, according to the various opinions on the subject.
I hope to get to the meet on Friday at Tower Bridge and maybe meet some of you and be brave enough to fly my mini 5 out over the water and hopefully back again.

Flying a drone is great fun but sometimes you feel the need to have a purpose for doing so and the Challenges category provides some great reasons for you to fly.

There are regular challenges which are open to all, that attract members of all abilities. Support, advice and constructive criticism is freely available; still photography, video and the techniques for editing both are involved in the challenges. Suggestions, for subjects or for complete challenges, are always welcome - take a look in the Challenges category for more information.

Our discussion forum has very powerful search features which should help you find what you need but if you get stuck you can post a new question in the Questions & Answers category.
